As the much-anticipated premier golf tournament of the year, the Hitmen Ryder Cup, draws near, competitors are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for glory. Penn State Captain Matthew Welch was spotted by our reporters after a grueling practice session, just before heading home.
"My game’s in a pretty good place right now," the captain remarked confidently. "I’m flushing it, you might say. I’ve learned that in these competitions, your putter needs to show up, and I’ve spent hours on the practice green. The stroke feels good, I look good, I’ve never putted better in my life."
But what does Team World® think of Captain Welch's confidence? As expected, they didn’t hold back.
"Doesn't that guy have like 15 putters? I think that's all I need to hear," quipped Team World® star Andrew Drake with a smirk.
"Rumors were circulating about his putting at the DTTC," chimed in Juice Simpson. "If those rumors are true, we've got nothing to worry about."
Whether Captain Welch’s dedication to the practice green will bear fruit when the pressure’s on remains to be seen. In the heat of battle, anything can happen.
