With the first day of the Hitmen Ryder Cup in the books, Team World® finds themselves in an enviable position, holding a 2-1 lead as they head into the final day of competition. The morning’s outlook seemed grim for Team World®, as Penn State captains Welch and Vellky surged ahead in the opening match, building a commanding lead against Garrison “G-Baby” Drake and Benjamin “Benji” Somerville. Yet, through sheer determination and steady play, Team World® turned the tide, securing a crucial point to kick off the event.
The second match saw Andrew Drake and Robert Swan of Team World® take on Penn State’s captains Pow and Piss, with Penn State managing to even the score, capturing the match in a hard-fought contest.
The final encounter of the day was a thrilling back-and-forth affair. Penn State’s Fontana and Brandon “Dink Dog” put up a valiant effort but were ultimately outdone by the stellar play of Team World’s® Patrick McGovern and Juice Simpson, who delivered a decisive victory to close the day.
With a 2-1 lead heading into the final day, confidence is running high in the Team World® camp. When asked for his thoughts following the round, Robert Swan kept it brief, offering only two words: "F em."
